Help with a slow WordPress website

Find the delay.
Fix the cause.

A slow website can frustrate visitors and make everyday work harder for your team. We review the pages, WordPress setup and hosting to find what is causing the wait, then carry out the agreed improvements.

Working remotely with US businesses. Clear scope, shared milestones and a planned handover.

Look beyond a single speed score.

A homepage test is useful, but it does not show every problem. A store may have a slow checkout. A membership site may be quick for visitors and slow after login. Your team may spend too long waiting for an admin page to save.

We ask which pages and actions are affected, how the behavior changes when traffic grows and what has already been tried. This gives the review a useful starting point.

  • Slow public pages, images, fonts and loading scripts.
  • Membership pages and other logged-in experiences.
  • WooCommerce browsing, checkout and administration tasks.
  • Database work, external requests and hosting limitations.

Review the website and its hosting together.

Large downloads, repeated database work and unsuitable server settings can cause different kinds of delay. Installing another caching plugin without finding the cause can add complexity without solving the problem.

We check how the site behaves and explain the main findings in plain English. The implementation may include image delivery, unnecessary scripts, WordPress code, database queries, caching or changes to the hosting. The scope follows the findings.

Check the improvement without breaking the website.

We agree on the pages and actions to compare, and use similar test conditions before and after changes. A shop or membership site also needs functional checks, not just a faster-looking score.

Important tests can include forms, login, search, purchases and content updates. Where appropriate, changes are tested away from the live site first. We keep you informed about the work and any trade-offs.

What you receive.

We do not promise a perfect score or one loading time for every visitor. Connection speed, location, devices and third-party services affect the experience too.

  • A review of the agreed performance problems and the likely causes.
  • A prioritized explanation of the proposed fixes.
  • Implementation of the agreed website and hosting changes.
  • A summary of what changed, how it was checked and any remaining limits.
Work behind the service

Performance work on real websites.

These projects show different causes of slow pages and the work carried out to address them. The attached audit reports provide additional context.

Questions before we start.

I already have caching and a CDN. Can you still help?

Yes. They do not remove every source of delay, particularly on personalized pages. We can review the underlying website and server work as well as the existing cache setup.

Do you only install a speed plugin?

No. The review determines what needs changing. A plugin setting can be part of the solution, but code, database queries, downloads and server configuration may need attention too.

Can you improve slow WordPress admin pages?

Yes. Tell us which tasks are slow and who is affected. Admin delays can come from different causes than the public homepage.

Will the website design change?

The aim of performance work is to improve the agreed experience while preserving the functions and design you need. If a visual feature creates a significant trade-off, we discuss it before changing it.
